Me and Earl and the Dying Girl vs. Paper Towns

Have you ever watch Me and Earl and the Dying Girl? What about Paper Towns? The two movies offer same idea: friendship on the last days of high school.

Both movies release on 2015, but Me and Earl and the Dying Girl earns better rating on IMDB. Until now, the Thomas Mann-starred drama owned 7.9 rating, hence the Paper Towns only 6.5 although have brighter star on their cast: Cara Delevingne.

Delevingne have to struggle with Olivia Cooke. The former have to play an easy going character, a bubbly personality that much lookalike her own nature in the real life. Her modelling and royal daily activity (she own royal england heritage from her grandmother) makes her easier to act like one in front of the camera.

Her energetic/misterious character in the movie takes the movie character Margo into a bear-trap whose can seize any kind of shy boy so they can easily kneel to their knees.

Margo are the love of the life from Q (Quentin), a senior high school who seeks a normal life since he was a young boy. After a series of scenes which show her as a popular girl in their school, sunddenly Margo go back to Q and ask for help. After a long romantic night, suddenly she dissappear and Q have to deal with it.

In other way, Cooke also play as a humble and polite person Rachel, which is inline with her personality in the real life. No question, Rachel is the dying girl, that have to deal with stage four cancer. By surprise, and out of nowhere, Greg have to be Rachel's best friend by stay as her loyal guardian on her side and make a goodbye movie, together with his co-worker Earl.

However, the strong point from Me and Earl and the Dying Girl of course the death issue. And either me either as a Delevingne fans or not, will choose Paper Towns if I haven't watch Me and Earl and the Dying Girl.

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl contain more artsy stuff like classic movie, movie making, and weird family life. On contrary, Paper Towns only put Margo/Delevingne as their magnet.

All in all, for me, still Delevigne's eyebrows have a better place in my heart. Slurp!
